Memezelo secondary school Lethabong High School soccer team tasted the smell of victory when they became the champions of the newly Coca-Cola tournament talent search held in Soshanguve, Block H last Friday.
The school was one of the four that participated in
the annual tournament. The tournament, first of its own aimed to discover
talent around the Soshanguve area.

School, Reitumetse Secondary School and Vaalman Secondary Schools too part in
the tournament.
The original setting of the games came to change from top four to top three contendership when Vaalman failed to pitch. Memezelo opened the first match against Reitumetse, beating it 1-0. Their second match against Lethabong ended in a draw. The final match came between Lethabong and Memezelo when both teams had four qualifying points to the finals, winning against Reitumetse and locking horns to a 1-1 draw against each other before the final battle for the prestigious tittle.
Both teams were presented with a new soccer kit jersey before the start of the final’s whistle start. The two schools battled it out till the last whistle, with Mememzelo opening their scoring before half time. Lethabong kept composure and kept on putting pressure on the defense of Memezelo trying a few shorts until they got the equalizer before the final whistle forcing the match to penalty shoot-outs.

Memezelo coach, Khotso Moagi, said he was disappointed in his team but they had room for Improvement. “This was a lesson for us and the boys should not be hard on themselves but they must just have to pick themselves up and prepare for their other league games,” said Moagi
